The final direction depends on international flights, confirmed high-speed rail schedules, hotel plans, and how much time the traveler wants on Yellow Mountain.
Shanghai
Arrive, recover, and keep the first part of the journey simple. The length can be adjusted to flight time and previous travel in China.
Hangzhou
Travel to Hangzhou for a city and lake chapter before moving toward Huangshan. The order may be reversed if the final departure plan works better.
Hangzhou to Huangshan
Continue by the best confirmed rail and transfer combination. The first Huangshan base depends on whether the next day begins in the mountains, Tunxi, or the villages.
Yellow Mountain
Allow a realistic mountain route, cable-car decisions, and the option of either a mountaintop night or a simpler base below the mountain.
Huizhou and departure
Add Hongcun, Xidi, Huizhou Ancient City, or another selected cultural stop, then connect to the confirmed departure station or airport.
